Abstract Energy harvesting represents one of the recent challenging subjects related to vibration and control. The scale energy harvesters storage can involve a wide power range, some milliwatt is elective field piezoelectric applications. This paper investigates frontiers piezoelectric-based applied automotive units. analysis, supported by experimental data, aims at estimating upper bound specific this technology for powering small devices on board cars. Passive optimally tuned harvester semi-active controlled ones are compared, based new control strategy named VFC-Variational Feedback Control, recently developed authors. technique makes it possible increase total drained from car vibrations.
